Final Project

When I first started, I knew that I wanted to have someone climbing a mountain and having rocks fall to try and avoid them. I then decided to add in the ropes so there would be a score involved. When you collected a certain amount of ropes, I wanted the levels to change. This is where I found my biggest problem. I was unable to get the levels to change according to a certain score. After trying many different ways to get this to work, I would still run into a problem with the levels. I finally then decided to add the backpack so the levels would change correctly. I tested this game so many times until I finally was able to get it to work the way I wanted it to.

Final Project

The game that I'm creating is having someone rock climb up a rock wall. The purpose is to not hit the falling rocks and to collect the ropes. Once you collect 10 ropes, you move onto the next level. To move in the game, you use the right and left arrow keys.

Broadcasting

When I first started the broadcasting activity, I thought it was difficult but after working on it, it got easier for me to use. Broadcasting is like writing a script of a play. The character can't talk until the other character says its line. Just like how a character in a play can't say their lines until after the person before them does. You would use timing in a project if you were making the characters dance or move. This would allow them to move before or after each other, rather than at the same time. Broadcasting can be used with dialogue, to make one character speak after another one.

Make A Block

I thought the "Make A Block" activity was easy to use and also helpful. It helped you stay organized with all the different motions that you had each character do. You were able to keep track of each characters actions easier. Make a block is basically a shorter way to write out a sequence of events. The block you make takes all the actions for one character and puts it into one block, to help save space. You could use with technique when you have too many actions or want to repeat an action of a character.

Webpage

The webpage project was a challenge but it also brought success. The first challenge I had was with the color of the background and body. Whenever I would type it in, it would not allow my webpage to work. To fix it, I had to copy and paste is from my previous HTML assignment. My second challenge was getting the correct format. My pictures wouldn't center on my webpage so I had to find away to make them fit. The last challenge was Trying to create a border. It took me several times until I was able to border the entire webpage. One success includes being able to fix the code after it wasn't written correctly. Another success was being able to center the top picture and list in the middle of the webpage. What I really enjoyed while doing this project is creating my own code from scratch, instead of copying it from something else.

What Colorguard is

Colorguard is a sport of the arts. It has two seasons, winter and fall. In colorguard, you have three pieces of equipment, a 6-foot flag with a silk, a 39 inch sabre and a 39 inch rifle.

Fall

Fall Guard takes place from July until Novemeber.
You march on the football field with the marching band.
The band and colorguard perform at competitions and football games.
Competitions are run by NESBA.

Winter

Winter Guard takes place from December until July.
During winter, the band doesn't march with you, instead, you play a pre recorded song.
Also, it's indoor and the colorguard performs only at competitions.
