Power Searching with Google
During the past few days, we have learned about how to power search with Google. In class 1, we learned how to search with images and also about how to search correctly in the query. This included finding images by color and finding similar images. Also, we learned how important keyword search is and why word order matters when searching. Something new I learned was finding similar images. Usually, when I try searching for an image I only get a few that are what I'm looking for. Now, when I need an image for a school project, I can find similar images so I can get better results. This is something I will use often and I'm glad it's something I learned about in this class. We then moved onto class 2. In class 2, how to interpret results and also about the different media in Google. This included what the right hand side info panel was, where related searches came from, how to define words and more about the search engine results page. Something I learned from this was the info panel. I always thought ads were at the right side so I would never pay attention to it. Now since I know sometimes it contains info about what you search, I will use it more. This will help me get information faster.
